Lynnderella Matter of the Heart is one of the most delicate and Valentines-y polishes I own. But I have chosen to share this manicure in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The reality with breast cancer is that the most marginalized women in our society experience the most negative outcomes with this form of cancer. As a feminist, I believe that the struggle to end breast cancer is tied intimately to the struggle to end racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and classism. I don't support the capitalist exploitation of women in terms of the commodification of breast cancer and survivorship but I wanted to take this time to speak about this important issue and honor, through awareness, those people who experience and die from breast cancer everyday. Especially those lives who go unmourned and unremembered.
Let's end cancer by making our world a more equitable and just place for everyone.
